Activity Classes
AKC Fit Dog Level 1
Instructor: Kim Sykes is an AKC Fit Dog Instructor and a Certified Professional Canine Fitness Trainer.
In this six-week course, you will learn how to safely incorporate a basic fitness program into your dog’s everyday life. Proper conditioning is vital to dogs of any age, to maintain and improve their physical wellness. The skills taught in this class will help you develop a great warmup for your canine athlete. Upon completion of the course, if you choose, you can be tested to meet the requirements for the AKC Fit Dog Level 1 title.
K9 Manners & More is an AKC recognized Fit Dog Club.
Sport Dog Foundations
Do you want to do sports with your dog? We are offering foundation classes to get you started.
Participants must take “Module 1 – Introduction” before taking any other foundations class. These are 90-minute, one-week classes.
All the Sport Dog Foundation Training classes will be held on Saturdays at 2:00 pm.
Scent Work
Dogs explore their world through their noses. We can work with our dogs to identify specific smells and let us know when they find them. We use specific target odors in this class and dogs learn to search interiors, exteriors, and containers.
When introduction classes open for this fun partnership with your dog, they will be posted here.
There are advanced/competition classes ongoing for dogs that are “on odor”.
- Continuing Odor – Thursdays 3:00 pm
- Continuing Odor – Saturdays 3:00 pm
**Classes are currently full and are not accepting new participants.
Agility
Run, jump, climb, zoom through tunnels – that’s what agility is all about. In the sport of dog agility, the handler directs their dog through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. The Agility 1, 2, and 3 Foundations courses teach teamwork, focus, handling, and agility obstacles in a safe and positive manner.
We have several agility classes for different levels of experience. For prerequisites and detailed description please click on the links below.
Please note, class sizes are limited and preference will be given to K9 Manners & More COEDs and Model Citizens graduates.
Other advanced agility classes are available. Please speak with your instructor or call our office for more information.
